The API 570 code covers inspection, repair, alteration and rating for In-service piping and their associated relieving devices used in petroleum and chemical industries. This specifies the in-service inspection and condition-monitoring program that is needed to determine the integrity of piping. This provides accurate and timely assessments to determine if any changes in the condition of piping could possibly compromise continued safe operation. It is also a requirement that all users/owners responds to any inspection results that require corrective actions to assure the continued safe operation of piping. Though originally developed for petroleum refining and chemical process industries, it may be used where practical for any piping system.
